Guide for article writers. Work with examples and sources

The synthesis essay – is a text with an intelligible grounded point of view.

A writer of the essay must provide arguments and real sources relative to the main theme. It is like exploring space. Every completed essay is an individual investigation with diverse angles of view reinforced by examples, real examples and citations of authoritative scientists. An author needs to distinguish true facts from fiction and organize them to a completed report.

Each synthesis essay starts with a problem which must be solved or highlighted. An author picks outsources and background. While subsequent chains of cases and precedents he makes the problem seem more understandable for readers and author. Each prerequisite composes diverse sides of the topic. The synthesis essay is a discussion between author and audition in the form of a silent monologue. A writer issues real cases and sources to explain his view. Also, he could use quotations – authoritative scientists and other famous writers could spell out some unique sites and properties in a more intelligible way.

There are three main versions of synthesis essays:

  • Argument essay. This type has a comprehensive thesis statement representing the author’s view. Information is given by clear and understandable form with a background of real examples. An article has a clear legible construction with completed sections and statements. Each state has a start with the writer’s attitude and explaining various sides of a subject. It finishes with conclusions and highlights unanswered questions.
  • Review essay. It is a more free type of synthesis essay. It has critical assertions and structure but seems more as an expression of thoughts neither research article. Review type of essay is used in medicine and social science classes.
  • Explanatory synthesis. This type of article is providing more facts and real examples than two of the above. It’s not showing any particular view. An explanatory synthesis essay highlights properties and various sides of the main topic. An author must inform his audition and give them a chance to make own conclusions grounded on given information.

Different subjects comparison and contrast.

Each theme subject has different properties. An author must highlight every separate thought connected with a problem. One of the most efficient ways to figure out the truth is comparing different topics in one field. For example – a problem of the World Ocean pollution could be compared to a problem of the Atlantic Ocean pollution. In its turn, the Atlantic Ocean’s ecological situation could be compared to the Caribbean Sea pollution, and so on. Exact facts contrast is more understandable for an audition than separate thoughts related to various problems. An author of the synthesis essay must provide more examples for comparison. There is no own speculation in a contrasting type of article – just clear statements, argument thoughts, and information. Do not forget to create an outline.

A writer should research the subject of your future synthesis essay. An author must read related books, articles, and online resources. How can a writer note his thoughts about the topic without any background information? The Internet is a great source of any information. You can find everything – from educational sites and courses to research articles, scientific works, etc. You should be prepared for this.

Before writing, an author needs to come up with his own opinion. With a piece of information in one hand and own synthesis in another – the author can write down his article. An author should choose a form of your article – adhere to it until the end with conclusions.

Every source and separate example should be an informational background. An author should fully understand and underline the main quotes, features of the topic. Your text could have various examples but it should not be composed of cases descriptions only. A synthesis essay is your own view. Only in the review type of article, a writer may note information and theme description without any own settlement.

The synthesis essay consists of:

  • The introductory paragraph.
    • An introductory statement – a hook to capture the reader’s interest.
    • The main issue a writer will talk about.
    • Your thesis main statement.
  • The body paragraph.
    • The reason to support your view.
    • An explanation of your opinion.
    • Sources and examples.
    • Explanation of the importance of your arguments.
  • The conclusion paragraph.
    • An explanation of the significance of your topic and problems discussed.
    • The thoughtful ending of your text with few thoughts from a writer.

For a conclusion to this article, I want to use a quote of the famous personality – Vladimir Lenin. He said his famous words – “To teach, to teach and again to teach!” If a writer wants to become a professional essayist – you need to teach and practice. An essayist must read more as write and see as more you think. Do not forget to proofread your work carefully. Only the way of self-development brings you the true Zen of writing.
